At Speciality Security Investigation Group Ltd (SSIG), we are dedicated to providing high-quality and realistic training services and products.
Each learner is required to attend all scheduled learning days as specified, as there are minimum guided learning hours that must be met. All pre-course work must also be completed before the start of any qualification or course.
The following contains important information and frequently asked questions. Below are our Terms & Conditions for enrolment, company policies, and other relevant industry details. It is essential that you read these before enrolling in any of our courses.
Each learner will receive a set of joining instructions and any pre-course materials associated with their specific qualification or course. It is the learner’s responsibility to ensure they read the joining instructions in full and complete all required pre-course work prior to the course start date.
By enrolling on a course, you are agreeing that you have read, understood, and accepted these conditions.
Facilities
Upon the commencement of your qualification or course, you will be given an orientation of the facilities. Please be considerate of our neighbours, as the facilities are often shared. Tea and coffee, along with other kitchen facilities, are available for your use, although lunch is not provided.

Student Code of Conduct
All registered learners must adhere to the code of conduct to ensure access, equality, diversity, health and safety, and equal opportunity for all learners engaged in training through our organisation. SSIG reserves the right to discontinue services to any learner or organisation that fails to comply with the code of conduct.
To ensure that all learners receive equal opportunities and gain the most from their time with us, these rules apply to everyone attending any of our qualifications or courses. Any individual who exhibits:
Any individual removed from a course has the right to appeal through our appeals process. NO refund will be provided, and legal charges or prosecution may apply if you harm or attempt to harm others or cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
Security Licensing Conditions
If you wish to become a security officer or door supervisor, you must complete a licence-linked qualification and hold a security licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). For more details about security licensing, please visit the SIA website: Apply for an SIA Licence - GOV.UK.
Security Licensing Fees
The security licensing fees are payable directly to the SIA upon application or licence renewal and are separate from course fees. For more information, please refer to the SIA website.
Offences and Convictions
It is the learner’s responsibility to ensure compliance with legislative requirements for the security industry. Offences and convictions may prevent an individual from obtaining a security licence under the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The SIA will conduct background checks (including DBS checks) when processing licence applications. Individuals found guilty or convicted of certain offences may not be eligible for a licence. Some offences may not disqualify a person after a specified period. If you are uncertain about whether you have any offences that could exclude you from receiving a licence, we recommend contacting the SIA before committing to any training or licensing fees.

Licence-Linked Qualifications
Those undertaking qualifications linked to industry licensing requirements are responsible for ensuring they meet the necessary conditions and requirements before enrolling. SSIG is not responsible for any issues that may prevent a learner from obtaining industry licensing or employment. If you have any questions, please contact our dedicated training team before enrolling.
All learners must complete pre-course learning. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course.

SSIG’s Right to Cancel or Postpone Courses
There may be instances where SSIG must cancel or postpone a course due to factors such as insufficient enrolment, instructor availability, facility conflicts, safety concerns, or other unforeseen events. SSIG reserves the right to reschedule courses to alternative dates. In such cases, learners will be given the opportunity to transfer to another session or course. If this is not possible, our normal refund policy will apply.
Language, Literacy, Numeracy (LLN) and Special Needs

Special Needs
Learners with special requirements (e.g., wheelchair access, cultural or religious needs, medical, or psychological needs) are required to disclose this information privately so we can make the necessary arrangements. All learners will be treated with respect and confidentiality. However, trainers cannot be held responsible for not making adjustments if a learner fails to disclose a personal limitation that may hinder their ability to complete the course.
Indemnity Disclosure
Speciality Security Investigation Group Ltd, its agents, contractors, and employees accept no liability for any loss or damage suffered by learners through any actions, omissions, or circumstances. By participating in a course, you agree to indemnify the company and its representatives from all claims, proceedings, or demands arising from your involvement in any training or associated activities. Participation is at your own risk, and by enrolling, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
You have the right to apply for RPL, which will be assessed against the competencies and criteria outlined in recognised training packages or accredited training programmes. Please contact us for more information if this is an option you would like to pursue.
Working with Individuals Under 18
SSIG complies with all relevant legislation regarding working with individuals under the age of 18 who may enrol in a qualification or course.
Disclosure of Safety Information
For your safety, you must disclose any information that could impact your participation in the course, including physical injuries, medical conditions, or traumatic experiences.
Where possible, SSIG will make reasonable adjustments to help you succeed in the course. However, certain aspects of the training may not be adaptable. If you have concerns, please contact our training team directly.
All learners will be asked to complete a medical declaration upon enrolment, including providing emergency contact details.
