SIA Security Officer (Refresher) Training

Highfield Level 2 Awards for Security Officers working in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) RQF 


Description
This qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice examination and practical demonstration. The course requires a minimum of 3 hours in the classroom, alongside advanced pre-learning coursework.

Entry Requirements
Learners must also provide proof of holding a current, valid first aid or emergency first aid certificate that meets the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is an SIA requirement for training centres to confirm that each learner meets the necessary first aid qualifications.


Progression Opportunities
Learners may progress to further qualifications, including:

  •  Highfield Level 2 Awards for Door Supervisors working in the Private Security Industry RQF 
  •  Highfield Level 2 Awards for CCTV Operators working in the Private Security Industry RQF 
  •  Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) RQF
  •  Highfield Level 3 Award for Emergency Care First Responders (ECFR) RQF 


SIA Top-Up Refresher Security Officer Course
This course is designed for security guards with expiring licences, offering the updated training necessary to remain compliant. Previously referred to as the "Top-Up" course, the newly revised SIA Top-Up Refresher Security Officer Course aligns with the latest SIA standards, consolidating essential knowledge and skills for licence renewal.


The SIA Top-Up Refresher course has been enhanced to address the evolving risks and challenges faced by modern security guards.


Requirements:

  • Complete the Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) course and bring your certificate of completion to the Top-Up Refresher Training
  • Complete the provided pre-course

  • Terror Threat Awareness, helping you respond to potential risks
  • Advanced Search Techniques, for more effective security checks
