Description

Aim:
The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the essential knowledge and understanding required to deliver a professional level of service as a security operative, while meeting the SIA licensing requirements.


Objectives:

  • Enhance the learner’s understanding of the roles and responsibilities of security officers working within the private security industry, alongside the regulations they must adhere to.
  • Expand the learner’s knowledge of workplace health and safety, including emergency procedures.
  • Equip the learner with effective communication and reporting methods.
  • Develop the learner’s ability to recognise, de-escalate, and resolve conflict situations.


Who requires this qualification?
Any organisation involved in guarding activities to secure a building or site may require trained security staff qualified as security officers who hold an SIA licence. The Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry qualification is a legal requirement for individuals applying for an SIA licence to work as a security guard.
