SIA Door Supervisor (Refresher) Training

Highfield Level 2 Awards for Door Supervisor working in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) RQF

In addition to presenting an up-to-date Emergency First Aid certificate, the refresher training will also cover the following:

Who Requires This Qualification?
In April 2021, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) raised the standards for licence-linked qualifications for door supervisors and security guards applying for new licences. In October 2021, accredited ‘top-up’ awards were introduced as a requirement for renewing these licences.

This qualification is designed for individuals who already hold a valid SIA licence as a door supervisor and need to update their knowledge in line with the new qualification requirements. Recognising that skills can deteriorate over time, this course ensures that operatives remain competent and up-to-date with safety-critical skills.

What Does This Qualification Cover?
The refresher training includes the following essential topics:

  • Conducting searches
  • Physical intervention techniques
  • Protecting individuals in vulnerable situations, including spiking awareness
  • Terror threat awareness, including the ACT/You Can ACT certificate

This course is specifically aimed at door supervisors with expiring licences and offers the updated training necessary to remain compliant. Formerly known as the "Top-Up" course, this revised programme meets the latest SIA standards and consolidates all key components required for licence renewal.

What’s New in the SIA Top-Up Refresher Course?
Stay compliant and keep your door supervisor licence up to date with the newly enhanced SIA Top-Up Refresher Course. The updated course replaces previous training and includes vital updates on Terror Threat Awareness, Vulnerability Awareness (such as spiking), and Advanced Physical Intervention Skills.

These changes ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills to meet modern security challenges and facilitate a smooth licence renewal process.
