SIA Door Supervisor Training

Highfield Level 2 Awards for Door Supervisors working in the Private Security Industry RQF 


Description
This qualification meets the Security Industry Authority (SIA) requirements for core competency training for door supervisors, ensuring they possess the essential knowledge and skills needed for roles within licensed leisure venues. Door supervisors are responsible for maintaining the safety of customers at such establishments.


In line with the updated SIA course specifications from 1st April 2021, the training now spans 6 days and includes an Emergency First Aid at Work unit and qualification.


Aim
The aim of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding required to deliver a professional standard of service as a door supervisor, while addressing the licensing criteria for SIA-regulated environments.


Objectives

  • Enhance the learner’s understanding of the door supervisor's role and responsibilities within a secure leisure environment, alongside the relevant regulations they must follow.
  • Build the learner’s awareness of health and safety in the workplace, including emergency procedures.
  • Develop the learner’s ability to recognise, manage, and resolve conflict situations.
  • Provide the learner with an understanding of legal issues and the law.
  • Enable the learner to implement effective communication methods.
  • Allow the learner to apply physical intervention techniques.


Prerequisites
This course requires mandatory pre-course learning. This pre-course and joining instructions will be sent to you only upon confirmation of your booking and receipt of payment. 


Candidates who fail to complete the required modules will not be permitted to attend the course.


Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at individuals seeking to apply for an SIA licence to work as a door supervisor, and is based on the current SIA specification for learning and qualifications.


Duration
The qualification is delivered over 6 days, with some additional distance learning required for Unit 1.

  • Licensing law relevant to the door supervisor role

  • Physical intervention techniques and their implications
  • Non-aggressive physical skills for self-protection and the protection of others


Assessment
Assessment includes practical exercises and multiple-choice examinations.


Certification
Upon successful completion, learners will receive an RQF Level 2 qualification.
